We require rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvovirus) and Bordetella. Canine influenza is strongly recommended. All vaccines must be given at least 14 days before arrival, and we need them on file before your check in date or your pet risks being turned away. Please send a copy of the vaccination history when you make your reservation, and at least one week before your pet's stay. For guests under 6 months we need proof of the vaccination series. Your vet can email records to hilde@doggroom.org.

Check in any time during our operating hours. We suggest dropping off a little before closing so your pup has time to settle in. Pick up by closing time to avoid being charged an extra day. Pets picked up between 1pm and 5pm are charged half a day of daycare, and pets picked up after 5pm are charged a full day.

Please pack your dog's usual food, bagged and labeled per serving. If food is not in individual prepackaged containers or bags with your pet's name and meals measured out, a meal packaging fee of $3 per day applies, up to $15 per stay. Canned food and meal toppers are accepted in their original container, but must be labelled with your pet's name. We also offer a tasty and nutritious premium kibble for $3 per day.

Absolutely. We have staff qualified to give oral and topical medications for a small fee per dose. We also offer a package for senior and special needs pets that includes unlimited medication administration. Medication must arrive in the original prescribed container with the prescription label attached.

Intact pets are more than welcome to board with us for a small upcharge. Unaltered dogs over one year are $2 per night.

Yes. Our Medium and Grand suites are built for multi pet families, and our Lodge Together discount applies when family dogs share a suite. Give us a call and we will set up your family stay.

Puppies 16 weeks or older are welcome to join the fun. For peace of mind, new puppy guests are invited to join us for a free night to try us out.

Playgroups are separated by size, activity level and personality. We keep a close eye on them for their whole stay, and every group is supervised by a trained team member.

You will get a daily report card for your pet, and you are welcome to text, call or email us at any time. Between the hands on care, the comfortable accommodations and a well trained team, our guests settle in quickly.

Absolutely. We offer full service premium bathing and full service grooming. Just let us know ahead of time so we can book the salon.

We strongly suggest your dog is on a pest preventative such as Frontline Plus or Advantage.

We require proof of rabies and FVRCP for all cats. Kittens will normally have completed all required vaccinations by 16 weeks.

Kittens must be 16 weeks of age to stay.

All pets must be on an active flea and tick prevention program, must be in good health, and must not have been ill with a communicable disease in the 30 days before boarding or daycare.

We ask that all of our feline guests be spayed or neutered.

Our mission is to give your dog a safe, healthy place to enrich their spirit, build social skills, exercise off leash and stimulate their mind. Our daycare is supervised by knowledgeable, caring staff and offers exercise, socialization and the chance to learn new skills with other dogs.

Yes. All daycare dogs join us first for a meet and greet, where we watch them at play and work out the best play options or social group for them. Call us to book your free evaluation.

Daycare dogs must be current on rabies, distemper/parvo and Bordetella. We also highly recommend canine influenza H3N8, canine influenza H3N2 and coronavirus. If your pet needs an updated vaccination, please arrange it no less than 10 days before any daycare time is scheduled.

The most important window for puppy socialization is the first three months of life. Puppies need at least one set of vaccines given at least 7 days before their first visit, including a first booster of distemper/parvo and Bordetella. Rabies comes at about 16 weeks.

We watch your pup's body language. Posture, facial expressions and other cues tell us what kind of play they enjoy. Social dogs are gradually introduced to the daycare pack, and dogs who prefer their own space get one on one time with a caregiver. Once the meet and greet is done they are welcome to stay the rest of the day.

Please bring your dog no later than 9:00 or 9:30am so they have time to explore and get comfortable. Then we introduce the regular group for that day one at a time. Pick up any time before 7pm. Fresh water is available all day, though some dogs drink less on the first day from the excitement and come home extra thirsty. That is quite normal.

We suggest a minimum of one day a week. Dogs relax fastest when they see familiar faces, so we encourage assigned days rather than a different group each time. Cannot commit to a set day? No problem, many of their friends come on multiple days.

Supervised play with safe, durable toys, running around with friends. Mid day we encourage a nap. After the nap they play until pick up.

Absolutely. We offer full service premium bathing and full service grooming, and we have additional treats and activities, such as individual play times, available for your pup.

Yes. Half day and full day daycare are both available, with after-hours checkout. Call us and we will work out which package suits you.

To keep wait times short we do require appointments, but we always do our best to fit in last minute requests.

Prices vary by breed, size, type of groom, coat condition and how cooperative your dog is on the table. Our starting price list is on this site. We can give you a ballpark over the phone, but the final price is set once we meet your pet.

Absolutely. We can usually fit in bath services and mini grooms on short notice, though there is normally a one week wait for a full groom. Please note we are at maximum capacity for Doodles right now and cannot take on any new Doodle clients.

Grooming drop off starts at 7:30am Monday to Friday, 8:30am Saturday and 10:00am Sunday. Pick up is coordinated around services, so please call and we will agree the best times. We call you when your pet is ready, and you will get a text too. Please respect your drop off time. If you are running late, call us. More than 30 minutes late and we reserve the right to cancel.

As a courtesy we ask for 24 hours notice on any cancellation, so we can offer the slot to another customer. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, a 50% cancellation fee applies.

Only high quality shampoos and conditioners made for pets, including specialty formulas for deep conditioning, hypoallergenic needs and coat whitening. We use a hypoallergenic shampoo as standard, and you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Depending on breed, age, coat and some health conditions, most pets should be groomed every four to six weeks. Many dogs also benefit from a monthly bath, and some as often as weekly. Our team will happily work out the right schedule for your pet.

Yes. Our Puppy Primping Service is the perfect introduction to bathing and nail trims, and starting early helps them get used to the sights, sounds and handling.

Absolutely. Our Zoom-Groom service is the first appointment of the day, which gives the most relaxing atmosphere and the quickest visit.

We are at 6285 Short Rd, Fairburn, GA 30213, just off South Fulton Parkway in southwest Fulton County, with easy access from I-85 and I-285. We are convenient for residents of Fairburn, Union City, South Fulton, Palmetto, Peachtree City, Newnan, Camp Creek and Cascade Heights.

The kennel has run continuously since 1972, originally as Celebrity Kennels. It later became connected to the USDA Beagle Brigade programme, and reopened as Best In Show Paws & Pastures in June 2026 under Hilde Haakensen's ownership.

Yes. Our cat facility has five large enclosures, each with its own corresponding outdoor area.

Yes. Fairburn is the second location for Best In Show Pet Care, which has operated on Cascade Road in Atlanta for over 13 years.

Our owner has 35 years of experience as an AKC breeder and exhibitor. We are not a franchise or chain. We are a genuine kennel, owned and operated by someone whose life has been dedicated to dogs.
